Adding SSH Keys to New or Existing FCS Instance

Nobus FCS Instances are Linux-based virtual machines provisioned on virtualized hardware.

While you can use password-based logins to manage your FCS Instances it is recommended to othewise use SSH key pairs. SSH keys provides more security than passwords and saves you time and inconvinience that comes with recalling passwords.

The following are required to access your FCS Instances with SSH keys:

Create an SSH key by installing an SSH client on your local computer. Available to Linux, macOS, and Windows Subsystem for Linux users is OpenSSH. You can use PuTTY on Windows without bash.

Add your SSH key to your FCS Instances. You can also upload your own SSH public key to your Nobus account, and attach it to your FCS Instances at time of creation thus, gaining access to your servers without using a password and ensuring more security. SSH keys can also be uploaded manually after creation.

After uploading your keys, you can connect to you FCS Instances using OpenSSH or PuTTY for shell access to the remote server.
